Frequently Asked Questions

+ What are your qualifications and training?

I have a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Smith College. I hold a certification in Financial Social Work (CFSW) from the Center for Financial Social Work and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts. Since 2014, I have been working in the healthcare field to help chronically-ill individuals reach their health goals and address barriers to doing so. I am also a Certified Nephrology Social Worker (NSW-C).

+ Will my insurance cover this?

No, insurance will not cover our work together. While I am a licensed clinician, the work we will be doing does not center around diagnosis or treatment of a mental health disorder and therefore is not eligible for coverage by insurance. If you have additional mental health issues that are interfering with our ability to make progress, I will be happy to refer to you a therapist who can treat you for those conditions.

+ What do you charge for your services?

For private, individual work I charge $100 per 50 minute appointment.

+ Will your work with my current therapist or financial planner?

I am happy to work in conjuction with your therapist or financial planner.

+ Do you offer general therapy as well?

No, I do not. If you are interest in general psychotherapy I can provide a referral to someone in your area.

+ Do you give financial advice?

No, I do not provide financial advice of any kind. I can help you to build the confidence and skills needed to manage your own financial situation, or to successfully work with financial service professionals.
